PAS Miri says Pakatan will win 3 out of 5

MIRI – In response of SUPP statement that PAS cannot gain support from Mirian, PAS confident based on current assessment, PAS and Pakatan Rakyat can win 3 out of 5 seats in Miri and Sibuti, while with extra hard, and right strategy; we can achieve clean sweep for all seats in Miri area, InsyaALLAH. PAS for ALL concept is now fully implement and well accepted by all people in Miri.
PAS for ALL is PAS as a political platform for all Malaysians, not as a regional political party limited to East Coast or Northern Malaysia only, nor representing a specific religion of Islam and its believers only. PAS for all means that all visions and missions that the party espouses will broadly cover all Malaysians. It will be an umbrella in which, Muslims and
non-Muslims alike, can share their visions, can claim a sense of belonging, and can be assured of equal protection and rights as citizens of Malaysia.
It will also be a platform by which all Malaysians, regardless of their geographic distribution, will be assured of a just and fair treatment in enjoying the wealth of the country.

SNAP Explains

SNAP: WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

By Paul Kadang, Director of Operations, Sarawak National Party (SNAP)

SNAP’s recent re-emergence to reclaim its place in the Sarawak political arena has sparked numerous allegations and prejudgements on the motives of the prime movers of the party’s re-vitalisation. Presumably made with good intentions, these prejudgements have been voiced out in the internet by political observers who seem to hold themselves out as being totally familiar with the present Sarawak political scene. Most of these, however, contain presumptions that have not been thoroughly examined.

Let me elaborate on the reasons and circumstances leading to SNAP’s re-emergence.

Background

From the beginning since its founding in 1961, SNAP  has had two important characteristics vis-a-vis its support: it has always been a multiracial party. Of equal importance has been its emphasis on Dayak interests, which is not surprising since this community forms its inner core.

It had been the tearing and cracking of this core by its political opponents since 1970,  through their divide and rule policies, which not only decapitated SNAP as a viable political organization but also formed the first significant break in Dayak communal unity. The manifestation of these divide and rule policies has continued to this day and has been a contributing factor to the dispossession of the Dayak people of much of their properties and lands by unscrupulous people.

Palm Plantation Patronage – How Taib Pays off Political Pals!

Taib’s power-base
Many have questioned in our comments why Taib’s political colleagues allow his corruption to continue?
Our researches through the land registry are starting to provide the answer.  Most of his political cronies, who occupy the top ministerial jobs, have themselves been major benefactors of the Chief Minister’s largess over state lands.
In recent years they have started to try and cover up their names, but we have gained access to some of the older records as well!  It is plain that for many BN YBs the end of Taib would mean the end of their cushy plantation titles, so they are hanging on to the old ‘rainmaker’ with all their might!
Naroden Majais
Simunjan Assemblyman, Assistant Minister in the C M’s Department and now a vast plantation-owner! Naroden Majais
Take for example Naroden Majais.  He has repaid the trust of his constituents in Simunjan by taking a staggering amount of their land!  We identified no less than 19 land titles handed out to him via the companies Hydroflow and Indranika Jaya in the Simunjan area during the period 2003 – 2007.

Taib, Sultan of Spin, goes to cyberwar

Pak Bui
At the risk of adding to the miniscule number of hits on www.sarawakreports.org, the copycat website run by Taib’s groupies, I recommend a short visit to the site. It will make you laugh, at a time when nasty, low-class scams like the blue films of an Anwar impersonator are in circulation.
Taib’s own low-class scam, ‘Sarawak Reports’, must be another of those ‘secret weapons’ that George Chan alluded to. It is a tawdry ‘ciplak’ or fake of the original whistleblower website Sarawak Report. www.sarawakreport.org Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but there does not appear to be anything sincere about Taib’s cyberspin.
George Chan’s previous ‘secret weapon’, Najib forcing Taib to say he will step down, backfired badly and exploded in their faces. The secrecy surrounding George Chan’s weapon is so intense that even he himself does not seem aware what it is or how it works.

Jangan Gadaikan Masa Depan Sarawak Buat Sekian Kalinya

As Sarawakians await change, DAP reverts to jaded MCA-SUPP mentality

As Sarawakians await change, DAP reverts to jaded MCA-SUPP mentality Sentiments are at an all time high as voters are now much more aware about political issues and ready for significant changes as Sarawak braces itself for state elections.
The Chinese communities were politically matured with the Ibans and Dayaks rising to the occasion by being more politically aware, said PKR Sarawak chief Baru Bian. The Melanaus, however, were still more conservative.
“The allocation of the seats has been finalised. We have chosen a woman to contest for the Balingian seat against Taib. Her identity will be announced tomorrow, we hope, the women will give her their support,” he told Malaysia Chronicle.
“Among the ‘hot seats’ identified as winnable are Chinese dominated constituencies, Kota Sentosa and Batu Kawah. I am also confident, we will win in Pantai Damai, Kedup, Repuk and Tupong,” he said.

Standing up for SNAP – and to Taib

Paul Kadang explains why SNAP has re-entered Sarawak's political scene and is determined to make waves.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Sarawak National Party (SNAP) has come under severe hammering over the past week following a seat tussle with PKR ahead of the Sarawak polls as well as allegations of secret funding from Barisan Nasional.
One man in particular has borne the brunt of this political bludgeoning and has now risen to the defence of his party. In a statement today SNAP’s director of operations, Paul Kadang, clarified the party’s stand as it re-emerges in the Sarawak political arena.
SNAP was founded in 1971 with the intention of being a multiracial party with an eye on the Dayak community which formed its inner core. Unable to withstand attacks from political opponents, SNAP eventually crumbled and the Dayak community experienced its first split in unity.
Kadang observed that over the past eight years the natives turned to various other political parties in search of one that would fight for their rights but were failed by all.

“Orang Arab nak tukar sistem, susah. Sehingga (mereka) terpaksa diadakan revolusi, (tapi) kita mahu perubahan secara aman. Kita tidak mahu masalah dengan polis. Anak-anak muda Sarawak perlu buat perubahan,” katanya.
